The Open Reel adds “Thing Unsaid” to Cannes slate

Italian sales company The Open Reel has unveiled new additions to its Cannes Marché slate

The Open Reel’s slate includes Eleonora Veninova’s debut Things Unsaid. This North Macedonian and Serbian co-production follows a troubled teenager who disturbs the fragile balance of a married couple when she moves in to stay with them, and was developed through Thessaloniki’s Agora Work In Progress lab in 2021. Veninova has previously written and directed a variety of shorts as well as the North Macedonian TV series. Producing Things Unsaid are DNF Films with co-producer LILITH.

“A Joke” funded also from HAVC

“A Joke” by Trifun Sitnikovski has received minority support from HAVC, through our co-producers I”Izvan Fokusa” from Croatia. The film is also funded from  Macedonia Film Agency.

Two short films “Birthing” by Milena Whitman and “А Joke” by Trifun Sitnikovski were presented at the workshop SPLIT SCRIPT. The program was led by script doctor Razvan Radulescu and the scripts received quite interesting versions.

The film “Birthing” has already received support from the Macedonian Film Agency, and “А Joke” is under development. The films are produced by DNF Films with Goce Kralevski as the main producer.

“Things Unsaid” selected for WIP – Thessaloniki International Film Festival

Eight film projects, including THINGS UNSAID, that are currently in post-production, are featured in the Thessaloniki Agora’s Works in Progress section, which this year will unspool both physically in Thessaloniki and online on 6 November.

“Things Unsaid” will be seen for the first time by the industry audience, which is composed of sales agents, distributors and festival representatives, through a clip lasting up to eight minutes and a pitch by the creative team – the director Eleonora Veninova and the producer Goce Kralevski. In addition, they will have a chance of winning one of the Agora Works in Progress post-production awards.
